1979 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 If you were a kid growing up thru the seventies and loved cars, chances are you had a poster of your favorite dream ride. Mustangs, Camaros, and Chevelles come to mind when garnishing your walls with American Muscle and Speed. When these portraits were starting to fade and the performance age of auto making was dwindling to nothing, Pontiac kept it's foot inside the Muscle Car door. When a Trans Am rolls down the street, it's obvious to everyone that see her what it's heritage is. Only one gaze at the hood gives it away. The elegant feathered animal placed on the front says it all. This 1979 Pontiac Trans Am is all you would want in that years model and then some. Pontiac didn't offer anything bigger than a 400 Cubic Inch engine that year which is a darn shame. When the owner had this car put thru a complete nut and bolt restoration, a freshly built performance 455 was installed in it's place. This WS6 car is highly optioned sporting many desireable features including: Air Conditioning Cruise Control T-Tops Tilt Wheel Power Windows Power Locks Sport Mirrors Factory Tach Coupled to the nasty 455 is a freshly built Super T-10 4 Speed Manual Transmission with a 12 Bolt Posi Rear End hold a 342 gear. Put this all together and you have one mean Pontiac. Estimates from the engine build provide a Horsepower rating of 450. The black interior has been completely restored with all new panels, seat covers, carpet,and what hasn't been replaced has been restored to look new. A layer of Dynamat was installed covering the entire interior during restoration keeping the outside noise and heat to a minimum. The exterior color is a factory Code 29 Nocturne Blue (stock color was black) and is beautiful. It's lazer straight body has had many hours of sanding and sticking performed to get her looking beautiful. This car placed second at this years Pontiac Nationals in the Modified Class. Although she appears completely stock, the judges noticed the 455 and quickly shuffled her out of the stock class. Let's review, freshly built, real WS6, performance 455 and a nationally judged show winner. This is a beautiful example of a nicely restored Trans Am with a few additional upgrades.
